Under-rated
Being single is under-rated. There. I said it. Don't get me wrong- I have nothing against men and the wonderful state of matrimony (which apparently is quite pleasant according to my parents and sundry other friends.) However, I do have a problem with the way singleness is often viewed.
I'm not a reject because I'm single.
I'm not to be pittied because I'm single.
I'm not less fun because I'm single.
I'm not less successful because I'm single.
I'm just.... SINGLE.
I can go wherever, do whatever, see whomever, whenever I want! It's fabulous! I'm not a feminist. Not at all. If you ever take me into "Bed, Bath and Beyond", or "Crate and Barrell" (not to mention a "Pottery Barn") It is very easy to see that I really just want a little home to decorate, with shiney pots and pans to cook in, and throw pillows to make my couch comfy. (I also am fairly picky about my dining room tables, but that's another topic.) However, I see absolutely no need to start that phase of my life yet. Because...
I love hang-gliding, buying insane amounts of shoes, shopping, eating chocolate at 2 in the morning, learning how to bungee jump and tango, spending $400 on a purse, shopping designer, and never going to bed or getting up at the same time. What guy in his right mind would condone such ridiculous actions? And I couldn't possibly like a guy who wasn't in his right mind... (actually, he might be rather fun if he were slightly crazy...)
But, here's the deal. I have at least 4 more years of school (maybe 6), I want to travel, write, explore, and do a crazy variety of things.
I'm only 21.
I figure I'll start looking for the "Bed, Bath, and Beyond" guy somewhere closer to 28.
Sounds like a plan.
Anyone up for some para-sailing?

yeah, i'm up for all that. well, not the $400 purse, but most of it. :)
and i'm very single. as in, apparently no one is interested in the slightest. :)
Me too. Me too. I heart Mr. Birt, but really, I think my life was more simple at the single stage in my life. We all know that, too, because you'd say, oh, she's studying. Rather than hanging with the boy.
But yeah, can I still go parasailing as long as "single" still applies to those who are "unmarried" but completely smitten?
I LOVE YOU JUST THE WAY YOU ARE;)
I HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON !
I WOULD LOVE TO GO PARASAILING
JUST WAIT ONE MORE MONTH AND I WILL BE A EMT
Um...what happened to you know who?
Who said singles are no fun?!!! Tell me!!! Why, i ought to......
